Glue Trap Ban - November 2021

Dear Constituent,

Thank you for contacting me about the use of glue traps in England. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the debate on the 19th November due to constituency commitments however I have outlined the Government's position and my own thoughts below. You can read the debate on Hansard at this link: https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2021-11-19/debates/C2D5BE0F-E9D9-4B18-822B-57D3C2E1C477/GlueTraps(Offences)Bill

In May 2021, the Government announced that it would look at restricting the use of glue traps. I welcome that the Government is supporting Jane Stevenson MP’s Private Members’ Bill to ban the use of glue traps for catching rodents. The Bill was introduced to Parliament on 16 June 2021, and I am glad that the Bill completed its second reading on 19 November. I am reassured that ministers will continue to work with Jane Stevenson as the Bill progresses through Parliament.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact me.

Sincerely,

Richard Fuller
