Richard Fuller MP has welcomed the news that eight local football clubs are to benefit from grants to cover the costs of adjustments that need to be made to safely cater for the return of players and supporters to their stadia.
The following clubs will benefit from this investment:
Biggleswade United F.C. £4,000
Biggleswade Town F.C. £10,000
Langford F.C. £2,000
Arlesey Town F.C. £4,000
Baldock Town FC (based at Arlesey) £2,000
Stotfold F.C. £2,000
Biggleswade FC £3,500
Potton United F.C. £4,000
The Matchday Support Fund is being delivered by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) - the grant-giving body that provides Premier League funding to support ground improvements for clubs in the professional, women's and non-league games.
Commenting on the news, Richard said: "We are fortunate to have so many local clubs in North East Bedfordshire and I hope that this investment will help the clubs to prepare for football's safe return."
