In February 2020, Richard wrote to Central Beds Council outlining his concerns about a planning application for 100 properties on land south of the The Ridgeway, Potton. The application was later withdrawn.
Just before Christmas, a new application was made for the same site - this time for 97 houses.
In view of his concerns about the suitability of the application, Richard has again written to Central Beds Council and a copy of his letter is available below.
Commenting on the application, Richard said: "I continue to have concerns that this application is unsuitable for the site. The application remains incompatible with the Potton Neighbourhood Plan. In addition, it would result in the loss of an important open space and there are concerns about the environmental harm which would be caused by the application. There also remain issues about access to the site and the transport and highways issues which would be created by the application."
"All of the concerns that I had about the application last year are as relevant now as they were then."
As a result, Richard has joined with residents, local councillors and Potton Town Council to object to the application.
If you are a local resident and have not yet taken part in the consultation, it remains open until the 5th February and details are here
