About Richard

Richard Fuller was born in Bedford and was raised and educated locally before leaving for Oxford University to study for his BA. He subsequently completed an MBA at Harvard Business School.

Richard was the Member of Parliament for Bedford from 2010-2017. In December 2019, he was elected as the Member of Parliament for North East Bedfordshire.  Richard was a member of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Select Committee between 2019 and 2022 and served as Economic Secretary to the Treasury from July to October 2022.

Prior to 2010, Richard was a partner in the strategy consulting firm, LEK Consulting, and a founding partner of the venture capital group at Investcorp. During his business career, Richard helped start a number of small businesses and has worked in Australia, the United States, the Philippines and South Korea. Between 2017 and 2019, Richard was the chairman of an educational technology company. Richard has a passion for the creativity, innovation and potential of start-ups and small businesses and is eager to put this broad life experience to work in Parliament.

Richard voted and campaigned for Leave in the 2016 Referendum and his local priorities include investing in local road and rail links, ensuring accessible services across the villages and towns of North East Bedfordshire and preserving the rural character of the constituency.
